Hvilken position arbejde har i vores hverdag, samt indvirkning på vores fysiske og mentale helse. Hvilken tyngde en arbejdstitel kan bære og hvordan den kan ændre sig afhængig af miljø. Mine værker bliver til med lige dele alvor og humor. Jeg elsker mit arbejde, jeg er afhængig af at se resultater og mine hænder bliver hurtigt rastløse. Jeg vil være en dygtig arbejder. Jeg vil være en dygtig kunstner. Jeg fodrer min menneske-maskine med arbejde, men hvor stammer dette behov fra? Er det tillært i et samfund, hvor forbrug og levestandarder konstant vokser? Eller er trangen til at gøre nytte i et større kollektivt maskineri forankret i vores biologi?I mit arbejde med tekstil og installation, blander jeg materiale-referencer fra forskellige arbejdspladser, deres uniformer og værktøjer, i ønsket om at bygge bro mellem yrker der kan være langt fra hinanden. Skrivning er en vigtig del af min proces, og tekst bliver ofte integreret i skulptur, video og publikation. What position work has in our everyday lives, as well as the impact on our physical and mental health. What weight a job title can carry and how it can change depending on the environment. My works are created with equal parts seriousness and humor. I love my work, I am addicted to seeing results and my hands quickly become restless. I want to be a skilled worker. I want to be a skilled artist. I feed my human-machine with work, but where does this need come from? Is it learned in a society where consumption and living standards are constantly growing? Or is the urge to be useful in a larger collective machinery rooted in our biology? In my work with textiles and installations, I mix material references from different workplaces, their uniforms and tools, in the desire to build bridges between professions that can be far apart. Writing is an important part of my process, and text is often integrated into sculpture, video and publication. Pavillonen legemliggjorde en vision om byen som en optimeret maskine, struktureret omkring standardisering og funktionalitet.Adiacenze i Bologna inviterede mig til et residency på baggrund af mine undersøgelser af arbejdskultur og idéen om kroppen som en "menneske-maskine". &nbsp;Projektet var en del af Adiacenzes program CLOSER – Becoming the City, hvor jeg udfra Le Coubushiers citat; Between sunflower fields and construction dust blev skabt under et residency i Bologna. Under opholdet zoomede jeg ind på mennesket og myren, deres samfund og ligheder. Som en hybrid mellem de to dyr blev teksten der reflekterer over kollektivisme, klasse, drømme om forandring og tryghed til. Hvordan bygger de en 164. etage? Hvilken formation arbejder de i? Hvem er deres leder? mens man ser sig selv stå op til den rutine man har arvet fra sin familie kan fantasier om at prøve at arbejde et andet sted opstå Jeg har hørt at at i andre kolonier langt væk fra min danner de formationer efter skyggerne når solen er kraftig i min koloni formaterer vi efter ly for regnen jeg har hørt at nogen kolonier finder deres føde højt oppe mens min mest finder den på og under jorden Men rygterne siger også at alle kolonier har en leder og de samme arbejdsopgaver arbejderen arbejder som vores arbejdere Vi sveder alle for vores leder men vi sveder også for hinanden for vores hjem og vores måltid for vores tid på den lokale bar Når jeg finder tid i mellem rækker af solsikker og byggestøv går jeg opad for at få et bedre overblik I højden høster jeg sollys til at fortsætte arbejdet det er som om at de hurtige bevægelser dæmpes en smule deroppe og blikket på vores fælles imperium bliver en smule mildere Jeg ved at nogle af mine kollegaer drømmer om et større territorie udvide riget udvikle nye boligområder gøre vores masse endnu mægtigere Jeg drømmer mest om at opleve andre kolonier fortsætte med at være indbyrdes forbundet i en fælles opgave byde nye arbejdere velkommen og blive budt velkommen af andre arbejdere For hver sæson ser jeg nogle af mine kollegaer blive forfremmet tildelt nyt udstyr på koloniens regning de modtager foruden nye uniformer og sikkerhedssko også et sæt vinger de får til opgave at afsøge nye muligheder for udvidelse af vores koloni det er en tid på året hvor en misundelse kan komme krybende oplevelsen af balancen mellem manuelt arbejde og nye udfordringer vakler Stemningen i vores koloni bliver trykket og det er nogenlunde samtidig at vores leder indbyder til middag og folkefest på torvet lad dem spise olivenolie lad dem spise tomater lad dem spise honningdug Efter middagen danser vi og synger i kor til Britney, Whitney og Robyn I nat er vi mere end arbejdere vi går sent i seng vågner en smule langsommere dagen derpå hvor vi med tunge ben sveder videre mens vi smiler over dansetrin fra festen mindet om at vi er et fællesskab vi er fugen der holder på bygningen vi er det usynlige skellet der holder kolonien oprejst As workers, we have three tasks: Build a home Gather food and protect the leader Since we do not choose where we are born we do not choose where we build our home what food we eat or which leader we are to protect We learn what is expected of us from those who spent a lifetime working before us we follow them watch their movements mirror them and in time become the next generation of workers ready to inherit the responsibility of belonging to a colony Few of us have met our leader in person but the importance of keeping them safe has been instilled in us in equal measure to the food that gives us the energy to carry on We learn that there is safety in belonging to a group a society a kingdom a colony that lines up every morning and returns home in the same line when the day’s work is done I have always found these lines incredibly beautiful worker after worker greeting one another when the shift changes passing the baton to the next team with a shared purpose a shared reward The food that is gathered is shared among everyone in the colony The home that is built keeps everyone warm and dry And the leader makes sure we never run out of workers A perfect circle But when we haul bricks and build floor after floor without knowing who will live there When the meals we collect are stacked in piles that reach the ceiling The storage in the cellar overflows and it seems as though the next season will never end What used to feel so satisfying begins to seem like an endless task On difficult days I find myself wondering what other colonies look like What do they eat in the neighboring colony? How do they build a 164th floor? What formation do they work in? Who is their leader? Hvordan fabrikken fødte en landsby og et samfund, samt hvordan tidernes forandringer inden for tøjindustrien ændrede det lokalsamfund fabrikken havde skabt i Salhus. Det tøj vi iklæder os i dag er som oftest produceret i lande der ligger langt væk, under forhold der ligger lige så fjernt fra os. Industrien er barsk, vores forbrug er unødvendigt stort og med store økonomiske uligheder er det langt fra alle der har muligheden for at træffe de rigtige valg med tanke på arbejdsvilkår og miljø. I fortællingen om en&nbsp; industri- og lokalsamfunds historie træder publikum ind i en scene hvor det er usikkert om de står midt i en byggeplads eller i en ruin.
